Here is a guided grounding meditation and simple guided crystal programming ritual to get you started with crystal magic! Let me know if you have questions. <3 Luke
Spiritual practice is a transformation of your ideas about yourself. It's about getting perspective and at the same time, going deeper into the core. It's about expanding your awareness of what it means to be alive.
Because the spiritual side of life is subtle, it's about learning to trust one's senses. The mind is clamoring and distracting to the simplicity of each moment. Yet we favor the loudness of thoughts, the coarse finality of thought, rather then trusting the quiet musing of the breath, of the question of every new now.
This begins physically, through becoming aware of one's breath, the rhythms of the body and how to nourish thet physical vessel. Then the mind is invited to expand past the usual hang-ups and barriers of identification. Expanding your consciousness is about re-claiming your inheritance of infinity. The limitations of thinking about your self, and your ego generated limitations of the world are causes of suffering. Meditation and contemplation of the nature of life open new doorways. Suddenly the very texture of life transforms-- as if you were seeing with new eyes. This is why people's eyes deepen and soften as they develop spiritually.
Can you perceive the flow of life through the skin, rather then the mind? Can you soften your brain and trust your feet's wisdom as the Earth moves underneath you? Can you release the urge to control, to force, to KNOW for sure? Can you welcome the revealing of life's secrets and surprises with a soft heart and listen to the music of every moment...? Rather then perfect yourself, spiritual practice should help you awaken curiosity beyond your current sense of self.

The butterfly needs to struggle to emerge out of her cocoon to get strong enough to fly. This has been illuminating as I have noticed: every one of my deep emotional dives instigates a time of soul-searching and healing and I emerge stronger. In fact, the best moments recently have come as a result of transformation spurned by meeting old feelings head on.
Today in I got in a brooding mood over some news and was knocking my head against invisible but still bruising walls, when I heard a baby screaming in the park and I chuckled to myself, because that was exactly how I was feeling! How annoying to feel stuck, overwhelmed and not wanting to be in that place! Rather then wallowing in total helplessness, I started cleansing some crystals and meditating, bringing myself into a more clear state of mind, and I was able to start to steer the situation in a progressive rather then a regressive direction.
Since I started engaging in mystical work to assist my life, it’s not that it suddenly got “perfect” but that I can interact with the process more skillfully and artfully.
Like the Cocoon, we all have to struggle to transform our consciousness. Now when I hit these snags, rather then getting mad, I get glad! Because I know it’s a point of transformation. A place where I’m emerging from an old cocoon that I’m now ready to get out of, and FLY!
Consciousness is the root of who we are. We are, at our essence, vibration. Our soul transforms into manifestation on the Earth , and then transforms back out when we die. Transformation is basically the dance we gotta learn! In this constant change is the learning of how to change, and learning the point around which our lives turn, which is our essential vibration, our Heart's essence, our Soul.
Earth has been called a school by many spiritual traditions, and it helps me to think of it as such. It’s not about getting it perfect. You can’t expect to know the material of Algebra 2 on the first day of school. Heck, Earth may even be summer school for those of us who flunked the first time around! So, here we are, learning in this pulsating, changing environment that expands and contracts. And ourselves as these organic vibrations of Soul, Mind and Body that also have our personal rhythms. And we interact with the outer world, and it helps us see our inner world through contrast and conversation. When we start to have a more holistic perspective on all of life being part of one source of energy, it helps soften our edges. No one is there yet… We are all getting there… Together!
When things get sticky, I have learned to “lean into it”, rather then just try to distract myself, run away or do a quick fix. Over time, you get to know the personalities and stories in your consciousness. The expansive ones and the contracted ones. How can we make them all work for us, and align them towards Love?! This is the work of inquiry, listening, integration and transformation.
Inner alchemy has been the project of Spiritual pursuits cross-culturally. There is a substance in us that desires to learn, to grow, to emerge from the cocoon. Consciousness, which we all have and are, is an ever evolving substance! So, to think there could ever be a moment of stasis or completion is fantastical. Look at nature's cycles. It NEVER ENDS! The Earth continues to spin, the Sun continues to burst gas and send light. We too are an ongoing process.
The Journey is the Destination. In my work with clients in divination and energy healing I want to assist in re-framing the story to one of growth, learning and evolution. Even when we are not sure yet when/where/what will emerge, we have to struggle, trusting, knowing that it’s part of the intelligence of Nature guiding us to grow, learn and transform. TO FLY!

I love spending time one on one connecting heart to heart with people. As my astrology practice is blossoming, I am inspired to share this wisdom in an innovative container of an experience.
My vision is that we
1) touch base in person, via phone or email regarding your current life questions and you give me your birth data (time & location of your birth)
2) I will brainstorm potential *dates* that align symbolically with the current transits of your chart. For example:
A walk and exploration through the library
A round trip train ride together up the Hudson River
A hike Upstate
Natural History Museum
A delicious meal or snack place
A boat ride
3) I will give you some options and estimated budgets for the date, along with my $120 energy exchange for preparing and sharing your chart.
4) We set a time, aligned with astrological timing that will support the date’s intention.

Thinking is like a Chinese Finger trap, the more I tug and think I’m making progress, the further from free I’m getting..!
In the Yoga tradition, negative thinking (worry & doubt) is compared to being frightened of a snake at dusk, but when actually seen clearly, it is just a coiled rope. We think of things in our life as snakes, when really they are just ropes!
Spiritual practices always address the role of the mind — they are the original Philosophy & Psychology. The mind gets a bad rap, though, because it is so tricky. Like the Finger trap, it’s monkey mind, to be avoided, transcended, an illusion, etc. I think it’s more about clarifying the function of the mind so it runs like a clean engine, where we don’t tug at knots and tighten our mental stress, where the inner environment is transparent to perceive the ropes for what they are, and be present for the beauty around us in the day to day.
In Yoga, we investigate our mind-states and conclusions that make us believe there is a snake to fear. Instead, when there is a snake reaction, we remember to breath, to sit with it, poke it with a stick, feel it’s scales, and in that staying presence the thing goes from scary to mundane. We give it time to unwind and reveal that it was different then we perceived, and not so bad, after all.
I notice the quality of my mind when I forget my thoughts, suddenly I am in a much lighter and simple state of being that contrasts other stressful parts of my day. In a given day I pass from being ecstatic and free, to getting triggered into a drama that pulls me into it’s trenches. I get worried, depressed, feel hopeless, because I am believing this story — that something is a snake, to go back to the metaphor. Because I have studied the ups and downs of my mind, I am more suspect now of these episodes, and more excited about uncovering the snakes for the ropes that they are, learning that there is nothing to fear. It’s been a big opportunity for me to take charge of my life, not to fix everything, but to be present with it, observe and not over-react. Then it’s easier for me to slip back into the simplicity of just being, where I perceive life’s simple beauty.
The very flickering of these mind states proves to me their in-substantiality. The medium of thought is fickle! And we have to learn to ride the waves. That’s really what yoga is about, when it boils down to it. Spiritual / Psychological Surfing. The fact that I can be depressed when I believe one thought and feel totally free when I am not dwelling on that thought makes me realize there is a choice of my inner world.
I share this because I have struggled with my mind and have ruined beautiful days because I was wallowing in something. As I do this inner process of looking at my snakes I am taking responsibility for the way I want to live. As I make different choices about not feeling sad and un-loved due to a past relationship, I start to shift the program in my mind and not fall into the same habitual stories.
So we begin the snake process with all parts of our life. We start to let the dust settle and perceive that life was not what it seemed.
Isn’t it our thoughts that cast and design the film of our life as either a suspenseful drama or a romantic comedy?! Maybe it’s not about controlling it, but allowing it to uncoil into the nuanced multi-disciplinary, genre-bending thing that can’t even be contained, but is so unique and artistic.
So, I invite you to do the extreme sport of sitting with your snakes. I invite you to not run away or try to kill the snake, but to sit with it and use methods to work with the snakes of the mind to transform them. Mantra is the Yogic tool of repetition of tones that re-pattern the mind waves. Mantra is an easier way to deal with a mind that’s strayed. Breath work is another way I always re-set when I’ve gone down a hole of over-thinking something.
Ultimately, our goal is not to know everything, but to be comfortable not knowing. To live more in the body and the heart. To experience life’s subtlety rather then stressing out to make it be the way we think it should be to make us happy. Be blessed!
Describing the Moon is not the Moon. As an avid explorer of the subtle world, I have to be careful to not get stuck in equating my experience of seeing the Moon with a validating description of the Moon.
I wanted to write about “Ego” as it is understood in spiritual traditions. But I want to start off by liberating this paragraph from any comparisons to the past. The reader, filing through the mental filing cabinet, searching for a match in the cluttered inner world of ideas, dreams & the X-file of life’s mysteries.
These clouds are natural. But they call to be clarified. Each Soul is growing, learning, clarifying, becoming exactly it’s essence.
I love the spiritual traditions of the World, there’s so much beauty and truth in them for me. I’m riffing on ancient symbols, metaphors and teaching to make them my own. Because there are infinite ways to put things together. Every being is made up of the same ingredients, but comes out completely unique! How is that?! The Universe is an infinite re-mixing of the parts. In it, we can always know the basic Truth, and always discover new ways they fit together.
The Sufis talked of “polishing the inner mirror of the heart”.
Buddhas sat to become empty, again.
Yogis use practices to re-harmonize to the rhythm of the cosmic whole, Om.
All these paths share the desire to return to what we actually are by entering the space of practicing being in that state, again.
Fake it until you make it.
The practice is the experience, until you don’t have to practice anymore.
I love entering the heightened state of an activated energy body, feeling connected and magical. I do this through many ways. Wanting to be in that space is number 1 — it really is an inner creation, calling it in, creating a sacred space, making time to practice, dreaming an experience up and executing it. We become the wizards of our own reality, shifting things to align with our heart and purpose— to reflect cosmic energy. To mirror the infinite energy of Creation. To be part of the Universe, to express, to be.
Clouds that make us hazy get dispersed as we connect more to the inner Sun that is always there.
There is awareness underneath the thoughts and feelings of everyday life. There is infinite space, freedom, ablue cloudless sky that wraps around 360° in all directions and dimensions. Why do we dwell on the clouds that float on the surface of this infinite space?! So, I ask you to honor the clouds as they change shape and speed, and know that you are so much more, and to connect to your hugeness. <3 <3
Living a mystical life is all about appreciating all the colors in the rainbow. Taking the good with the bad, but really seeing everything as just colors, just variations, on energy. Light and water play to make rainbows in the sky, and it's these Natural Mysteries that fascinate me. My path of spirituality and healing has transformed my "lens" on life to be one of La Vie en Rainbow. I see the colors, I see the beauty, I see the Light, the Magic, the complexity, the mystery. If I helped others to shift their lens to make their lives beautiful I would be psyched. I'm happy enough just to share writing, music, images, thoughts here. Thanks for reading, Aloha.
